CC&B Training Document of Field Activities

Step 1: Creating a field activity in the system
1. Click on Premise Context Menu in Dashboard and click ‘Go to Field Activity (+) ’
2. Field Activity page will be opened.
3. Search for the Activity Type and select the relevant activity.
4. Insert the date and time.
5. Select the priority.
6. Dispatch group will be automatically assigned by system, look at dispatch group.
7. Save the field activity, Field Activity Pending will appear in the alerts in Dashboard.

Step 2: Dispatching a field Activity
1. Click on Main Menu à Field Order àDispatch Field Activities.
2. A new window will appear, insert the respective dispatch group code in Capital Letters.
3. Search for pending field activities by clicking on main search button on upper right corner of the window.
4. A date wise list of pending field activities will be opened. Click the relevant date of field activities.
5. Now the system will show all pending field activities of selected date as well as the dates previous to the selected date.
6. Select the box adjacent to the respective field activity.
7. Search for a team from the search button adjacent to representative.
8. Insert the date of field activity.
9. Click on save button.
10. The selected pending field activities will be dispatched and excluded from the pending list.

Step 3: Search for a dispatched field activity / Search for field orders:
1. Click on Main Menu à Field Order àField Order Search.
2. A new window will appear, insert the respective dispatch group code in Capital Letters. Select the field order status à Dispatched.
3. Search for field orders by clicking on main search button on upper right corner of the window.
4. A date wise list of dispatched field orders will be opened. Click the relevant date of field activities.
5. Now the system will show all field orders of selected date only.
6. Click on Go-To button adjacent to the relevant field order, you will be moved to field order page.
7. On field order page click on the button “Display field Order”.
8. Field order will be opened now in a new window.
9. Print the field order and give it to field staff.

Step 4: Completion of the field activity in the system
1. Search for the customer in control central page.
2. Click on Field Activity Pending in Alerts of Dashboard.
3. In case of multiple field activities, a new window will be opened.
4. Select the respective field activity.
5. On the field activity page click “Characteristics/Remarks” Tab.
6. Insert the characteristics which were being written by field staff on field order.
7. Click on Save Button.
8. Click on Context Menu adjacent to field activity ID on the upper right corner of the window. Click on “Go To FA Upload Staging +”
9. On FA Upload Staging page, insert “Work Date/Time” on which field activity was actually done.
10. If work is done by other than assigned team than also search for representative and select the right representative/ team.
11. Go to steps tab.
12. Insert the required data in the steps.
13. Complete the field activity.

Oracle Utilities Developer - CC&B Jobs

This is a 3 Year Fixed Term Contract job of CC&B Technical support.

So as to help us meet those challenges, applications are now invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Oracle Utilities Analyst/Developer.

The role of Oracle Utilities Developer CC&B:
Reporting to the BG Energy IT Utilities Senior Developer, this role will troubleshoot, maintain and enhance the operation of the batch scheduler, and the operations of a number of other Energy IT applications and interfaces – focused on the maintain of the billing operation, at the heart of which is the Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing application (CC&B). This is a hand on technical role involve programming/technical skills. This position would suit graduates keen to increase experience and acquire new skills in a dynamic fast moving development environment. The winning candidate will be required to work as an associate of the 24x7 batch schedule support team. Training will be provided as required.

Responsibilities of Oracle Utilities Developer:
•Write technical specifications
• Deliver work packages to time/budget
• Adhere to IT development procedures and standards
• Conduct root cause analysis, run traces, review logs.
• Ensure compliance with Bord Gais security guidelines
•To provide operational, maintenance and development services to support Energy IT applications, primarily the UC4 batch schedule operation, Oracle Utilities CC&B Interfaces (Java/XML), and Doc 1 bill and letter printing application
• To provide technical solutions and support to other Energy IT Workstreams and projects as required
• Fulfill all reporting and monitoring requirements
• Apply best practice software development, testing and change control methodologies
• Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications required:
• Java/XML development experience is mandatory
• Experience of using one or more of the following: HTML, SQL, Weblogic, Tomcat, Oracle RDBMS, Web development
• Competent analyst and at trouble shooting, debugging, running traces, investigating logs
• Experience of working as part of 24X7 operational support team would be an advantage as would any experience of supporting complex integrated application architectures
• Ability to deal comfortably with non technical users
• Degree or equivalent in Business, Engineering or IT discipline
• Knowledge of industry-standard methodologies, tools and environments
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Experience of supporting any of the following applications would be advantageous: Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing (CC&B) V2.*, UC4 batch scheduler, Doc 1 v5 bill/letter printing application.
• This is a ‘can do’ role suited to a self starter with a proactive approach to problem solving and systems development. The candidate should be comfortable working in demanding rapidly changing environment.
